This little piece of paper caused alot of trouble this morning on the school run. Whilst walking to school Little Bird asked me if I had put this piece of paper in his book bag. With a blank expression on my face I answered him with “no”because he had not asked me when we were at home. This caused an instant melt down as we walked through the school gates.
Little Bird went on to explain through the tears that he had written down some numbers and a sentance on a piece of paper at bedtime last night and wanted to give it to his teacher. I told him that I would try and find it when I got home and bring it when I picked him up. He was having none of it,so I told him I would talk to his teacher. When we got to the classroom I told his teacher about this piece of paper and she laughed and said “oops thats my fault,I told the class that if they bring in a piece of paper with numbers and a sentance on then they would receive two merits.”It all became clear.
So last night after I had put Little Bird to bed he got up and found a pen and started writing,he did not copy this from a book because I had taken his reading book downstairs,he wrote this sentance from memory. I am so proud of my little man I can’t believe he managed to write the whole sentance and spell it correctly –‘A cat on a box’Needless to say this piece of paper is safely in his book bag ready for tomorrow morning. Well done Little Bird. xx

its the simple things that cause the biggest melt downs. The workings of a childs mind are weird and wonderful. Tht is brilliant writing little bird, and Im sure the teacher will love it.
