What do dreams mean?? On Wednesday night Little Bird woke up at midnight having a bad dream,I was really sleepy when he came into see me and gave him a cuddle and sent him back to bed. I didn’t want to ask him straight away what he was dreaming about because I didn’t want him to think about it to much. Little Bird continued to come into my room until about 1am saying that he could not sleep.
Daddy Bird was staying in a hotel for work on Wednesday night so I decided to let Little Bird get onto bed with me. This is something that I do not do very often,I think you can actually count on one hand the amount of times I have let the children get into bed with me. It took Little Bird a while to settle down and go to sleep but he finally dropped off.
At 6.15am Little Bird woke me up,I was convinced or more like hoping he would have a lay in because he was awake so much in the night. When we got up I asked Little Bird what he had been dreaming about that night and he said ”I was standing at the back door of the house and the door was open, then a big bird flew down and picked me up in his beak and flew off with me.”I do not know where this dream came from, but I would love to know. He was really scared and it really did unsettle him.
Do you children have any strange dreams? or do you know what this dream might mean? I would love to know, please feel free to leave a comment below.

So sorry to hear he has been having bad dreams. My boys sometimes do too and I used to be plagued by it as a child. Can’t offer much wisdom on the meaning but my hubby who is cleverer than me says it could be something to do with something that has happened in the past that he’s worried about. So he’ll just need your reassurance to let him know you are there for him (which i am sure you are doing anyway!). x
That is a great point Rebecca,I think he could be worried about something,I will keep talking to him. He tells me everything.
I don’t know what dreams mean.. or even if they mean anything at all other than over active imaginations and all the days thoughts crammed together.. but I do know my youngest often wakes saying hes had a bad dream, half the time he can’t remember what the dream was the next morning but it always seems to be very vivid to him at the time and he gets upset. Its not nice when they wake and I hope your little boy doesn’t have too many more nasty dreams x
Thank you Sarah x
